General information

Clinic Doctor Sultan is open to all children from the age of 0 to 18 years old with a medical complaint or problem. The general practitioner or youth doctor can refer you to our clinic.

The clinic is not providing emergency care.

Besides online consultations, Doctor Sultan holds office in several clinics in the Netherlands. You can find these locations on our contact page.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic offers medical specialist pediatric care.
It also offers lifestyle treatments for parents and children who want or need guidance or treatment to learn how to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Type of health care that Doctor Sultan’s Clinic offers:

  • Care of newborns and infants: Monitoring growth and development, developmental problems, feeding problems, sleeping problems. crying, spitting up, suspected (cow’s milk) allergy, general complaints of being ill such as respiratory complaints or pain.
  • Care for children aged 1-18 years: headache, abdominal pain, other pain complaints, fatigue and other long-term complaints. Poop and pee problems, shortness of breath, cough, allergies, short and tall height and puberty issues. ADHD, ADD, overweight and obesity.
  • Lifestyle treatments for parents and children.

No emergency care
Clinic Doctor Sultan does not provide care for which children need acute help. The GP will refer you to one of the surrounding hospitals for this.

Examination and research
For laboratory research, we work together with Hessels & Grob and U Diagnostics.

Dietician
Dr. Sultan collaborates with dietician Jasmin Ghorbanian.

Type of health care that Doctor Sultan’s Clinic does not offer but can help you find:

  • Emergency care: please call your general practitioner or call the emergency services
  • Care for children over 18 years old
  • Complex mental healthcare ( child psychiatry)

Schedule or change an appointment

You can schedule an appointment directly via our website.

The data we ask for when you make your appointment:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Date of birth
  • Email adres
  • Phone number
  • Referral letter
  • Description of the main (medical) problem

If your doctor refers you directly to us online, through his own system, you don’t have to do anything.

Your details will then be sent to us automatically and we will contact you by telephone within 24 hours to make an appointment.

You can also call us to make an appointment, the number is +31(0)85 0601058.

If you have any questions, you can email us your question via the contact form, on our contact page.

You must bring the following items with you to your first appointment:

  1. Your child’s identity card or passport (we are obliged to check this).
  2. Your medical insurance details.
  3. The medication boxes of the medicines your child is taking.
  4. All your child’s growth data (can be found in the GGD growth booklet or you can request this at the GGD).
  5. A warm blanket for small children.
  6. The questionnaire that will be available for you in the Patient Portal.
  7. Signed consent statement that is available for you in the Patient Portal.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic is known for investing sufficient attention and time for your child.
We therefore schedule plenty of time for an appointment. This time is reserved especially for your child. It is of course also important that you are present on time.

If you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, please let us know immediately by calling us at +31(0)85 0601058 or leaving us a message via our contact form. So we can reschedule your appointment and reuse your time slot for another child.

If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours in advance, we are unfortunately forced to charge you for the full amount. These costs are not reimbursed by your health insurance.

If you need another appointment for the same complaint within a year’s time, you no longer need a referral letter and you can contact us directly to make a new appointment.

You can request a prescription renewal in the Patient Portal for which you received the login details on the first visit.

You will not receive a confirmation of the request in your mailbox.

Always do this well in advance. After 48 hours (working days) you can collect the prescription at your pharmacy.

If you no longer have an appointment scheduled with Doctor Sultan, you can request a repeat prescription from your GP.

Assumption of costs of health care

If you have a referral letter from your general practitioner or pediatrician, the care provided by the pediatrician is always covered by the basic health insurance.

There is no deductible for children (<18 years), so all costs for your visit are always fully reimbursed.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic does not yet have contracts with health insurers, but is striving to obtain them in the near future. Because we do not yet have these contracts, some health insurers may not reimburse the full bill, depending on your insurance policy.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic believes that all children should be able to benefit from their care.

You therefore only pay the amount reimbursed by your health insurance.

The bill will not be reimbursed for appointments without a referral letter from the general practitioner, youth doctor or medical specialist.

Costs charged because you canceled an appointment less than 24 hours in advance will not be reimbursed by your health insurer.

The deductible for young adults 18 years or older is also not reimbursed.

No referral letter
If you do not have a referral letter, you can also use the services of Kliniek Doctor Sultan and the passer-by rate applies. These rates are the maximum rates for treatment that have been determined according to the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA).

Payment proces
Doctor Sultan’s Clinic does not yet have contracts with health insurers and the payment process is slightly different than in a hospital:

If you are insured, initially, the bill will be sent to you. You can then reimburse the costs by claiming the bill at your health insurance company(‘s website). After you have received the reimbursement from your health insurer, you only pay us the amount that you have received from them. We will bear the rest of the costs. You therefore do not have to advance anything and you do not have to supplement the amount (with the exception of the deductible for young people 18 years or older).

If you are a European citizen please contact your insurance company for reimbursement

The following rates apply for patients who do not live in the Netherlands:

  • First consultation (30 minutes): 250 euro.
  • Check-up: 150 euro.

The payment will be charged when you make your appointment.

When you have to cancel the appointment, you can make a new appointment at a different time.

The rates for pediatric care are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authorities (NZA). Doctor Sultan’s Clinic strictly adheres to the rules drawn up for this.

The amount of the bill depends on the number of contact moments you have had with the pediatrician within these 90 days.

The bill will be sent to you by email. More information about how your bill was created can be found here (Dutch only).

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic works together with various healthcare providers such as dieticians and physiotherapists. Much of this care is included in the basic package for children. Other care is reimbursed from the supplementary insurance or the municipality.

The pediatrician will inform you about this before you are referred.

Consult your health insurance policy yourself about what is reimbursed within your package. The cooperation partners declare their own costs and will inform you about this in advance.

Complaints and compliments

We do everything we can to provide you and your child with the best possible experience.

If you are satisfied, we would of course like to hear about it. But that certainly also applies if you have tips or points for improvement for us.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic stands for transparency in healthcare.

We do our utmost to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and your child. However, it is likely that you are not satisfied. Then we would like to hear about it because we can learn from it.

It is best if you discuss this directly with Doctor Sultan herself because then we can also look for a solution that you are satisfied with. If this makes you uncomfortable, you can always email us your complaint, using our contact form. We will contact you within 24 hours.

Experience has shown that a large proportion of complaints can be resolved in this way.
A complaint can be filed by a patient, his representative, or next of kin.

If, after your conversation with the pediatrician, you still feel that we have not succeeded in reaching a good solution, you can get in touch with our complaints officer or file an official complaint.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome there is a dispute and you can submit your dispute to Geschillencommissie Eza, an independent, legally recognized dispute resolution body with which we are affiliated.

A dispute resolution body shall give a binding ruling on the dispute within six months and may award damages of up to €25,000.

You can simply refer to Doctor Sultan’s Clinic via your ‘zorgdomein’.

Clinic Doctor Sultan does not provide acute care.

Doctor Sultan’s Clinic is always accessible for consultation.

All pediatricians are affiliated with the Dutch Association of Pediatrics (NVK) and meet all quality requirements drawn up by the NVK.
